Engine Lift Plate Question

If i lift my engine by the lift plate is the Edelbrock RPM Air Gap strong enough to hold the motor?

I just feel a little uneasy since i never did it that way before. I have the lift plate.

Anyone ever had a problem lifting the motor like that?

As you can see by avatar it is all done and ready to go so you can see why i would be worried

thanks

The 93 van I just bought is showing a 12 and 45 fault followed by the 55 end of check. According to Allpar 45 is for turbo cars only, what’s up with mine, 5.2 FI Thanks

360 clatter – High volume oil pump/deep oil pan

*I’ve just had a 360 motor rebuilt. It was an original complete motor. Heads were done, block boiled and bored 30 thousands with a mild hydraulic cam. I’m getting a lot of noise and clatter on the top of the motor. I have installed new rockers and shafts (holes facing down pointing toward the outside of the motor). On start up I get 40-45 lbs of oil pressure at idle and then it drops to 15-18 lbs at idle when hot. I have a Melling high volume oil pump with a stock replacement Milodon 5 qt (4…

camshaft issues.

Hello good ppl 🙂

i will now present the crushed valvetrain on my 340 engine 🙂 look at the pictures..

i had solid lifters and a 242.246 dur 108 mec camshaft.. i think the exhaust valve that broke had .550 lift. heads are ported J with 2.02 and 1.60 ferrea stainless valves and mp springs/retainers.

Senario. i think that the chevy profile camshaft (i wont tel brand before i am sure this was the problem) was milled in the back side of the lobe to increase lift and duration. the notch in the…

What the heck!

I have removed my oil pan because of a leak between the engine block and transmission. I have already replaced the rear main seal and was going to install the oil pan but something doesn’t look right. The pan gasket isn’t long enough to make it all the way to the pan seal. Also the seal seems like it is to long. In the picture I have one side right where it needs to be and as you see on the other side it sticks up a mile. When I installed the pan last time I don’t recall it being obnoxious as…
