We dropped a used rebuilt 318 (3,000 miles on engine from a t-boned ’78 Ram Charger) into my son’s ’74 duster, 3 speed M/T. Edelbrock performer intake and 1406 carb, stock exhaust still on it, swapped the pan and oil pick up out from the truck and used the old pan and pump which worked fine. No temp or oil gauges on it yet.

We got it started, timed it, ran it for about 20 minutes, drove it up the block to see if everything shifted right then parked it in garage and went back and re-tightened…

I am geting a set of J Heads rebuilt . I’m get the parts all to geather for the shop to do the valve job . I need to know what springs to get non rotator or rotator . I am building a 340 , I am going to put a Edelbrock Performer Plus cam . Which Edelbrock spring should I order ?

I just purchased a freeze plug kit for a 360 and am lost on which direction it goes or if I’ve even got the right one. Yea, I know, dumb a….. Any help or pic would be greatly appreciated. I know i have been told the crosswind is junk and Now i am wondering If I should port it to match my heads and open those ports so it breaths or Buy a M1 intake for my set up, what do you think?

Magnum heads with what he told me are 2.02 valves. These were bought and checked for cracks..
They have 1.6 roller rockers.
The cam is a Xe274 with .524 ex and .521 intake lift with 1.6 rockers
It has Crosswind intake
It has a viscous fan and a under drive crank pulley…

On a small block, at what main brg clearance would a HV pump be a smart thing to use? Is .003 too loose for a std. volume pump? Thanks in advance.
