Lost my best friend

I've been at my Mom and Dad's all week. I went to a wake and a funeral.
I lost a very good friend that I'd known for over 40 years to Lung Disease .

She had been in Prysby. Hospital in Pittsburg, Penn., awaiting a lung transplant. Her doctors told her family,..."if she could hold on until July 4th weekend, she'd probably have a donor." She had been fighting cystic fibrosis for over 10 years. She was put onto life support on the 29th of June and 10 minutes later she was brain dead. :pale:

She had told her family she did not want anyone else to die for her sake. When asked ,"Anyone else?" She said without hesitation, "Christ died for me." O:)
10 minutes later ...

Her name was Sarah. I'd known here since we were 4 years old in kindergarten back in the summer of '69. I was in her wedding 26 years ago. She leaves behind a big brother, her husband of 26 years, 2 married daughters and 2 sons still at home, 4 grand children and many nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
She had been a counselor with Job Corps for 20 years. She was a beautiful person inside and out. She was a 6' tall redhead that had a smile that would melt the coldest of hearts. It is so ironic that as a child, Sarah had been in the school band since 4th grade and she played the trumpet, to have died fighting for every breath.
Sarah was born on March 12, 1965 to her parents who have long since passed away; buried on Friday July 3rd beside them. She now rests on top of Dobbin's Peak Mountain, in Clay County West Virginia, where her Great- great-great-great grandfather first came to that part of Virginia back in 1810.
The chimney of the old 1810 home stead still looks over the 7th generation now peacefully lying there.

I will miss her so.
