so I buy this running..( we start it ) 440/727 trans package...in a derby car.. seller is asking $500, but wants to keep the elderbrock carb and adaptor ..as it is his good runner carb and give me the original thermol quad..runs good enought to know it's not knocking but Im thinking I will pass..as seller pulled this last minuet I want to keep the carb..i started to walk and he says $400..so yea a running package for $400. bought it friday...came home and put carb on saturday, bought a reman points distributor ( the one on it was eletric and I didnt have the correct eletic stuff) and start to fire up the motor that is sitting on my trailer. have a radiator I was goning install after I zeroed in the timing ..so so to make sure motor was OK..new oild filter/oil..all hooked up pop, sutter looking good..then lots of gas comming from the side of the carb..CRACKED !
I just got off the phone and seller stastes "I honestly did not know that"..well i tell him i need a carb..so he's says he will chase one he sold with some 383's..fun/games in the melting snow...
