Carb Studs (Edelbrock Phenolic Spacer)

Hey gentlemen I’m in the process of installing a spacer on my Edelbrock carb and am curious as to how tight the longer carb studs should be tightened? Is finger tight okay? Do I need to use any gasketcinch on these studs or on the spacer?

Better fuel economy from a small 4bbl or a stock 2bbl?

I see discussions from time to time on whether or not you can actually pull better fuel economy from a small 4bbl if you stay off it and keep the secondaries closed.

What are the spec’s of your tune?

I’m trying to maximize the combination in my car. I’m running a 440 based 493 with 10.8 squeeze, MP ‘509 cam, Edelbrock RPM heads and intake, 2″ TTI headers with 2 1/2″ exhaust and a BG 850 VS carb. It is jetter 85/92 with a 3.5 PV. I set timing to 17 degrees inital, topped out at 31 plus vacuum advance. 727 with GV OD, 3.91 diff, 3.05 in OD.

I just wanted to know if there are benefits to helping me on the street and justifying a 300 dollar purchase. And i know I will lose trunk space, but the battery…
