Any noticable torque ?

Hi guys. I’m going to do some mods to my engine this winter. She’s a 69 340 with 10.5 pistons, and OEM thermoquad intake with TQ carb off a newer 340. I’m going to use a stock 69 camshaft or simular, 4 speed with 3.55 rear. She has cast x heads with 2.02 valves now. Would I gain any noticeable torque with going to maybe cast j heads with 1.88 valves? I heard some where that smaller valves may help low end torque over the 2.02s. Or is there another cast stock head that would give me a little…

Duration @ .050

I hope someone can explain. When I switch my Dyno 2000 software from “advertised duration” to “@.050” and change the specs, I loose HP and Torque. The cam in question is a Lunati Voodoo hydraulic roller #60710. Specs are: advertised duration 258/264, (@ .050 207/215), lift 485/485,Lsa/Icl 112/106, rpm range 1000/5000. When I switch to @.050 I loose 53 hp and 10 ft.lb. I tried it with the Isky E-4 (260/260 or 216/216 @ .050) and lost only 6 hp but gained a couple ft/lb of torque. I think either…

Need help…..this is goofy!

We dropped a used rebuilt 318 (3,000 miles on engine from a t-boned ’78 Ram Charger) into my son’s ’74 duster, 3 speed M/T. Edelbrock performer intake and 1406 carb, stock exhaust still on it, swapped the pan and oil pick up out from the truck and used the old pan and pump which worked fine. No temp or oil gauges on it yet.

We got it started, timed it, ran it for about 20 minutes, drove it up the block to see if everything shifted right then parked it in garage and went back and re-tightened…
