1970 Coronet Quarter Panel Questions

Hi all I have a question on quarter panels for the 70 Coronet. I have some that I bought a few years ago (6 years or more now) that are hung on the car.

My question is did any one that has replaced both quarter panels find that the drivers side is harder to line up?

Im going from memory on this since its been so long ago and Im getting ready to start working on my R/T agian.

I know when we put the rear bumper on to check fitting of the panel, the drivers side always seemed to be to much one way or the other.

My dad is an ex-body man and says he can get the panels to line up they just need some working to do so.

I trust him but wonder if there is or was a defect in the panels?

I also need a patch panel for where the rear bumper goes. My bumper was rusted onto the car.

Do they make this panel? I''m thinking its something I will have to make as I knew I would have to years ago.

Im going to be cleaning out away from the R/T over the next few months and turning the car around so the back end of the car can be rolled out of the garage to weld.

I cant believe how long its been and how much I have missed the hobby and cars all together.

Thanks everyone for the help and any tips you have on these panels to get them linned up would be great.

My dad is good at what he used to do but unable to see (leagely blind) and Im his hands now for this part of the project.
