1970 Coronet Door Panel Questions

I have a question on the door panels. The wood grain strip that is held on by clips.

What is the best way to get this off door and rear area?

I have not taken the side glass off the car yet and that might give me a better advantage to take this small strip off.

I just dont want to bend it or break the clips that hold in place.
