I'm probably not alone in watching the military situation in Ukraine unfold. What is pretty striking to me is the contrast between the Russian approach to this invasion and the US approach in places like Iraq and Afghanistan. Air superiority was always the US priority going in and despite Russian claims to the contrary they have failed to achieve this.
