I am rebuilding the steering column in my 1970 Dodge Dart (automatic). The middle of the three pieces that are behind the steering wheel is held to the steering column housing with four hex head screws (see pics below). They are fine thread, thread cutting screws and the threaded part is an inch and a half long.
