Should I Trade?

Hey guys, I put my 2x4 carbs and intake up for trade for either a six pack and some cash on my side or a single 4 and some cash on their side.

My 2x4 setup is from a marine 440 and its all a matching set as far as I can tell. The carbs are carters.

I had a guy message me with a fairly new Demon 850 double pumper on a torker 2 intake. Said less than 1000 miles have been put on them.

He's saying that his set up is worth just as much as mine if not more. And wants to trade straight across.

Now I would probably agree being that I have Carter's and the old Carter's usually aren't worth a whole lot. But since they are a matching primary and secondary 2x4 set I'm not so sure about that. Just like if you have a single Holley 2 bbl.. its not worth much. But if you have 3 matching primary and secondaries for a six pack or tri-power they all of sudden become worth their weight in gold whether they are new or old.

So should I trade him straight across or ask for a little cash on top?

Also not sure if this helps or hurts. The intake and heads on my car were port matched. So the intake has been ported out. Some people that don't want to have machine work done on their heads see that as a problem. But people that plan to build a high power motor will see it as money saved for not having to get it done. He knows all of this.

And one more thing I dont think its going to be a problem but if I do trade for another intake will I need to have it port matched to the head? I wouldn't think so since it would be the intake ports thats smaller than the head ports. I could see it being a big problem if the head ports are smaller than the intake because gas would get caught on the edge of the port before getting into the head.

Any idea what my setup is worth if I were to just sell it? And mine will probably need some rebuild kits which are what about $25 bucks a piece..
