rim & tire fitting/choice!?!?

Ok guys unfornuntly I fight the battle of fenderwell headers on my 69 dart.
Heres the deal car is street strip. but wont be hitting the strip more then a few times a year if that.
Right now i run the following.
Rear rim is centerline 15" by 8 or so small bolt pattern
Tire is m.t. street radial p275/60R15

Front rim is centerline big bolt pattern 15" x
tire is 165 r15 86t

Now heres my problem my wheelwells do have the hemi cut... so those tires do barley fit but on the street even with an empty car they do rub a little. but just for the track the rear would be ok i belive.
The front i have my torsion bars jacked up just to make up for the rubbing and the car has lost all weight transfer so i need to get them back down but then they will rub.

I was thinking of getting a cheap set of steel wheels for the street
front would be 14" with maby 5 inch with smaller tires then now to clear the headers for the street and then rear would be 15" as wide as i can get from stock rim and put some decent street tire on it i suppose.

I do like the look of black steel wheels on a dart expecilly with candy red paint.... But the other thing i suppose is that with the lowered ride hight the front centerline strip rim and tire wont fit even just for the track.... unless i go smaller front tire for the strip too for the track only.

what would you do.?
