I’ve been toying around with differant ideas for my ’73 340. what would you do if it was yours?
Heres the spect that won’t change.:
’73 340 std bore block
’69 340 10.5:1 pistons w/ rods
J heads 2.02’s
windage tray
double roller timing set
Currantly it has an Edelbrok performer intake ( been ported and leaned up)
also has 360 ( small valve heads ported and ploished ( those have to go), It has a ’70 something truck cam in it, I have a performer cam ( to match the intake ).

Complete A/C setup
Complete Mopar A/C setup removed from a 1970 Fury with a 318. Everything including compressor, condenser, valves, lines and brackets. System worked fine until the car was parked indoors for 5 yrs by the previous owner. By the time I got it there was no charge left. Compressor still turns freely and condenser is in great shape. Cam Choice
Hello guys. I was hoping you could give me a little guidance on what cam I should install in my ’69 340. This is my first rebuild. Its a blast.
The 340 has been hot tanked and magnafluxed and has passed inspection. machinist says I can get away with .020 over bore. The crank survived and just need a polishing. The rods and caps are all Ok but the cap bolts should be replaced. The engine was in really good shape upon disassembly.

Awesome sounding vintage machine
I am into vintage planes as well as cars. Everybody always talks about how awesome P-51s sound and they are right, but listen to this BF109G. It has it’s original supercharged Daimler-Benz DB605 engine. It has a nice choppy idle and just listen to that supercharger on the medium speed passes. Awesome sounding machine.
