My transmission has too much fluid in it, on the dipstick it is above the "full" line when hot and in neutral by about half as much as the full line is above the "add" line. I have heard you shouldn't run with them overfilled so I was wondering, what's the best way to unfill it? Dropping the pan seems messy, and I don't have a pump for the dipstick, can I disconnect one of the cooler lines and just turn the engine over for a bit? Also, how bad is it to run with what seems like maybe an extra pint in there? I noticed that even with my idle at like 1500 in park, it's at 8-900 in drive, which I don't remember happening before.
