Opinions please

I bought a set of edelbrock heads from a place that uses edelbrock bare castings and loads them up w/their own components. Now for the problem, when I unboxed these things it looked like to me the springs were way to big for the retainers. So when I set the rocker arms and shafts in place they would not even come close to setting down in the mounts where they should. So I got out my calipers and measured the o.d of the springs(1.670) and gave the dude a call. When I told him I had acouple of issues with the heads I had just received he got a little bit of an tude with me and said ok ,lets hear it. After arguing back and forth awhile and he suggesting I was installing the wrong rocker arm assembly, He finally relized someone had installed big block springs in my small blockheads. This all took place on friday nite and we left it at that , he told me he would call me back on tues. a.m.
I quess my question is what would be fair? I think he needs to send me new springs, a prepaid shipping lable for his old springs if he wants them back and credit my account for whatever my guy charges me to swap these things out. That would still be much cheaper for him than paying shipping both ways so they could fix this.
I suppose what is most irritating is I had all my parts on hand to put this thing back together this weekend since I had four days off of work and plenty of time to do it.
