Ok, I need some help with a weird one…

I have had a new problem pop up today...

I have an autometer tach, which has been hooked up and working 110% since day one. Today I am going for a left turn, and I happen to notice that the shift light is flashing on and off with the turn signal blinker... while its doing this, the tach needle is pointed as if it is off(no power) I try the right signal, and the tach remains working and no flashing of the shift light...

for whatever reason, I decide to try the headlights, and when I pull the knob, the shift light stays on constant, and tach is not working...

Ok, interesting...so I go home and stick my big head under the dash to see how I wired the tach up 2 years ago, the power is spliced into the wiper switch plug, and the illumination is spliced into an orange wire coming off the back of the cluster...

right now i am clueless except for thinking that I read a few posts on how turn signal wiring harness go bad.... could this be causing my situation? or any advice?

thanks!
