Noisy lifters

I finally got my 408 running and broke in however, I seem to have some valvtrain noise. Its not bad, but its audible, sounds a little louder than a sewing machine.

Its got a comp cam (I don't recall the part#) its pretty mild 224 @.050. Then its got hy-lift Johnson liters and smith bro push rods with comp/mopar 1.5 adjustable aluminum rockets.

Now I set the lash cold @ 3/4 turn (2-3 threads) b4 breakin and don't remember any noise on breakin. It wasn't until I relashed the valves hot @ 3/4 did I get noise, which I just read your not supposed to lash hyd's hot.

I also realized that the liters are oil through designed for magnums :wack:. Would that be a problem? Here's a link http://www.hughesengines.com/Index/p...=&partid=11033

Also I should mention I made sure it was primed good by slowly rolling it over while priming. With that said, when I went and relashed the valves I could easily push down the plunger like the lifters where bleed down. Could this be because there oil through?

I just hope I haven't done damage #-o
