FBO sells an electronic voltage regulator that looks like a stock mechanical regulator.

This is for use with the stock wiring harness on a pre 1970 car. If you have a newer alternator with 2 field connections, just ground one of them.
The web page has a pretty good explanation. If I understand correctly, this will give the benefit of the later chrysler electronic voltage regulator while maintaining a stock appearance and avoiding the need to alter the wiring harness.
