after seeing a picture of an F body today I got to thinking about my 1st new car
In Dec 1976 or Jan of 1977 I seen a new Roadrunner (volare) that was orange with black landeu top and T tops. I tried to buy it but they would not deal on it and I would not pay list.
I went to another dealer and ordered a 1977 Aspen custom in dark blue, black landeu vinyl top, t tops and about every option available. 360 2 barrel, auto with console, posi, fold down rear seat, radio delete (dumb ass me I had a radio to put in it). It was delivered in May of 1977 to Broadway Chrysler, Dodge Plymouth in Anderson, Indiana. I had it Ziebarted when new and so it had yellow plugs everywhere.
I owned it for about 2 1/2 years and sold it before getting a divorce so she would not get the car.
The last time I seen it it was sitting on a used car lot in Anderson Indiana in the late 80's with a 6 pak hood scoop added to it.
I just wonder what happened to it. Is it still out there, was it crushed and now something else, could one of you seen a car like this over the years?
I seen very few T Top cars even when they were new. Now 32 years later, doubt very many survived the years of use and abuse.
There are a few for sale now, a superpak 77 with 4 speed, don't know if I would want it back, but sure would like to know if it has made it.
