I recently picked up a used HV oil pump for almost nothing and on closer inspection at home I see it is in good condition except it looks like a small hole has been drilled in the retainer cap of the pressure relief valve (cap is shown in the picture). The seller said as far as he knows, the pump was working well in a 318.
Does anyone know if this is a known mod to do fro whatever reason, maybe try and reduce pressure or volume? The cap is not distorted so it doesn't look like it's been...
