Ignition driving me crazy

Ok, in reality this sounds like a simple problem. Probably is. But I have been messing with it for a while and what do you guys think.
Yesterday I pull up at the napa part store to get a new set of U-joints. Mine are original still. I come out to my car and it won't start. I check a few things and no spark coming from the coil. I have electronic ignition. I know my ballast resistor should have been replaced a while ago so I go in and get one. Put it on and the same deal. Nothing. Naturally I leave my cell phone home and don't know any ones phone numbers any more. A guy in the part store is talking to me telling me how cool he thinks my car is. When he finds out I have no way home. He offers me a ride. Great people in this town. I get home pull out my my spare ecm. It is brand new. Before all this. my spark was so strong you could just set my cap on the distributor with a 1/4" gap and it would fire up right away and run like the cap was snapped on. I swipe my sisters car and go back to the part store. I spend some time here and still nothing. I figure screw it. I go home pull out my old dual point dist and drop it in. Damn, more problems. I just put on a new Holley carb. The fuel line runs directly into the distributor. Vacuum advance is clocked different on the dual point. I luck out and the fuel line will work if I point it to the rear of the car. I go get a piece of fuel line to reach the rear. Wire every thing up and she starts. Runs so-so but gets me home. I get home to time her and she dies when I pull the vacuum line of the dist. Go to re start her and nothing. No spark any more. I have been messing with this for a while this morning. I have power to the coil. As you crank the motor over. I see with a test light hooked to the neg. side of the coil that the points are opening and closing. Light is flashing away. But, still nothing out of the coil. I grab another coil wire I know is good and still nothing. I grab another coil that was good when it was on a samurai I used to have and the power stays on from the positive side to the negative all the time. I hooked up the electronic distributor and get a super weak spark some times when I crank the motor over. This is the second accel coil I have had in this guy. last one started leaking oil. So Do you think it could be the coil. Or maybe the condenser. The mallory dual point worked fine before. I just hate to buy another coil to find out it is bad. my partner should have a spare coil but is out of town. What do you guys think?
Time for a for sale sign? LOL Just kidding there. I will spend what ever I need to to keep this old girl going for a long time. I know this should be a no brainer but my brain now hurts from this "should be an easy fix"
Thanks
