Seems like the entire Pacific North West is burning this year. We have had several extremely dry winters. This past year we had 4" or so of snow....and a very dry spring. While this makes some folks very happy it makes for very dangerous conditions in wooded areas. Think we have only had 7" of total precipitation this year.
Anyhow, I do appreciate what these brave souls do. Out this way the bulk of the crews are volunteer. Takes a special breed to risk their life for others....for free. So if any of you folks have a firefighter in your family....give them a handshake and buy them a coffee for me...
