My apologies if this has been discussed before, but I can only read through so many pages of posts. After getting my "new" car home today (74 duster 318)I tried to figure out why the ammeter was dancing around, ( a ton at idle, not so much at speed) the previous owner took the alt. off & it checked out good, replaced the voltage regulator & starter relay. problem persists, Anyway looking under the dash, It looks like someone tried to re-wire it using dynamite & electrical tape, it's a mess ! Is there an economical wiring harness out there to re-wire the dash & engine compartment ? I looked at the Painless kit & it's over 500 bills! I really hate electrical work, so I'd prefer a kit that was made like the factory stuff & I could just rip all this butchered crap out & plug it in. Thanking you in advance, John.
