please help . i have a Mallory 2557701 dual – point dist. on a 1966 – 361 v8 , when i try to put new points in , same gap and dwell as the old ones , ( to spec ) the car will not start . i have used both the 25042 and 25042X points , same result , when i put the old points back in , the car starts every time . what is happening here ? is it a problem with the condenser ? why would only the old points work ? i have tried one new set one old , no start . i’ve tried different gaps and dwells ,…

Hi, have a 75 Duster with very strange Electrical issue…

1. Lights (including breaks and flashers) will not work at until motor is running
2. Engine will not start from ignition
3. IF Key is left on, Coil is Temp-jumped off battery and Starter solenoid is shorted to start motor the car will start and run
3a. Lights work now without issue.
3b. Also jumped coil wire may be removed and it will continue to run fine.

any ideas on what would cause this issue?

alright im having a problem with headlights and dash lights flickering with the rhythm of the engine at idle also the volt reading at my battery is no more then 12.6 when the car is running and my alt is putting out 14 volts. new alt and regulator and still no change, after 2 weeks the battery gets to weak to start the car and every time it gets too weak the first thing that happens when i try to start it smoke shoots out of the carb and when i mean shoot you can hear a loud his and whiteish…

I need to wire my complete car (71 duster), has anyone used this harness and will it do the whole car,how easy is it to install,where can you buy it?

I have a wiring harness that ends in a connector behind the front passenger side kick panel. What is this for? Its been years since I took the car apart so I dont have a clue. Car is a 74 duster.
