Did Mopar ever actually use the same 10 X 1 3/4″ rear drum brakes on a 7 1/4″ rear end as on the 8 3/4″ rear end? Here’s the deal…..I just yanked out my old wimpy 7 1/4″ rear end and installed an 8 3/4″…..I installed the correct (and all rebuilt) backing plates from an A-body. I thought I had some 10 X 1 3/4″ drums laying around, but apparently I don’t. So, now I’m thinking I’m officially screwed….until…

So then I look over at the 7 1/4″ rear end….and start measuring…..and find…

I have the KH front disc, and I will be rebuilding them soon.

Since the hub and the disc are joined by the lug studs, once separated, instead of putting them back together is it possible, (or should I say a good idea?), to drill out the holes for the lug studs on the rotors so they slide on and off?

When I compare the KH brakes to one of my other cars, the disc is held on by the rim/lug nuts and kept centered by the hub- but not attached.

I bought a 71 Scamp that had a front disc brake conversion already done, problem is the car is now BBP front and SBP rear, plus the MC was NOT replaced according to the seller so I got a problem

Besides upgrading to a Disc/Drum MC like the Raybestos MC36426, I am considering either upgrading my rear end to BBP or downgrading my front hubs to SBP – seems smarter to go BBP but it would be at greater expense since I have 2 rear ends to work with – a 7.25 on the car and a spare 8.75 A-body rear -…

Is the front reservoir for the front or rear brakes? i have mine connected to the rear brakes. is this correct or am i an accident waiting to happen? thanks

Ok need some help. I have a 64 Dart and am looking to replace the E brake cables as they are worn and the cables that connect to the brakes them self in the rear end are damaged.

I need to know if these cables will work with my setup? I have a 70 8 3/4 rear end installed in the Dart with the large finned 10″ rear brakes out of a Duster. Are the rear section of the cables the correct type to connect to the e brake assembly the same for a 7 1/4 and a 8 3/4 rear? Details please 🙂

Installing new parking brake cables on a 75 dart sport. Problem is I’m not sure where the cables go after the front cable. I believe I have all the required hardware that I need, but not sure what goes where. Car didn’t have any of this stuff installed when I got it. Checked some of my service manuals only has adjustments not pics. of the cable routing. Any ideas or can someone post pics. Thanks in advance…..

I’m almost thru rebuilding the brakes on my GTS and was wondering if I should swap my original front disc’s…the originals ( 11 inch rotors) had to be cut down to .81 from .83…lots of surface rust from 18 years of just sitting…anyway I’ve been told that these might have trouble in hard hi speed stops and saw on this website about brakeperformance.com.com (I think thats the website, I’ll have to check later ) they have replacement rotors slotted and drilled for just over $100…
