Ride Height…………,Again

Ok…..Here’s question.
I just put my 69 fury back together. I rebuilt the entire front suspension, and did a factory disc setup on it. I set the ride height. From my eyes, the ride height looks good. I did the factory procedure from the shop manual where you measure from the lowest point of the lower ball joint and from the adjusting blade. I still have what seems like a long way to go when I measure distance a from distance b with respect to the floor, the difference is only an inch or…

Input Shaft Seal

Hi everyone. I’m new to the forums so please forgive me if this question had been answered in a previous post. Question is: Do I need to remove the steering box to replace a leaking input shaft seal or can I remove the 4” retainer ring with a spanner wrench from above? It’s in a 70 Newport. Thanks for any available info. Rick_S

I am Looking for a Sector Shaft for the Power Steering Box on a 1959 Imperial

Hello, everyone.

I am looking for a sector shaft (the shaft that feeds into the Pitman arm) for a 1959 Imperial. Mine is pitted beyond trusting it. I understand these were on ’59s through ’61s. The part number is 1733577. I would consider a used one if I could see if it were unpitted. I know that requires the box and seals to be removed, and therein lies the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Correct Wheel Studs etc.?

I am redoing all my brakes and am working on the front drums now. I purchased new drums Raybestos 1924R.

I am looking for the correct studs. After researching parts I purchased Dorman 610-134 studs. They don’t seem correct when I test fit one. Loose in the hole and the un-threaded shoulder seems too long.

It is for a 68 Newport 11in drums.

Any advice / help is appreciated.

Unusual Steering problem

Last fall I bought a 77NYB coupe largely because I believed the low mileage claim, loved the color combo and feared it was priced in derby territory. Here and there I’ve been retuning it to the road. Some backstory because I believe it is relevant…

Purchased from a 90+y/o man’s son. The old-timer bought it himself when he was in his later 80s. (I hope I’m doing that kind of stuff when I am as ancient.) But because of this, he likely took it to shops for work and it appears they had a…
