I enjoy watching this program. the DIY channel, 111 on Dish. maybe some of you guys would too. these guys are located in WV and they find old log cabins, barns, anything made of log construction. buy it take it down sell it and put it back up sometimes 3-4-5 states away. what is really cool is when they show the home fully finished. it is all just so cool to me.
it reminds me a lot of what we all do to restore these old mopars and the history that goes with them.
in their last episode they were in my home state of Missouri. it said there are 35,000 historic barns here. I can believe it. most of our old barns are post frame. the exterior oad planks. i'm sure there are some barns where the original barn was log, and then added on to with more "modern" construction.
there is a local barn that was turned into a home. taken down , moved to their place, and rebuilt there. really cool! as the lady once told me, " some people just don't get it, but she would not trade it for anything". I agree.
