1968 Chrysler 14″ rims and wheel covers
I got these with my Newport, and since I decided to keep using the 15″ rims and tires, I don’t have much use for these anymore. Also including the wheel covers for the same reason (these are the 14″ “Deluxe” wheel covers according to the accessories catalog for 1968).
I would prefer local pickup (DM me for an exact address or at least a zipcode), I can see about shipping but it would be on your dime.
Asking $200 for the whole set (rims + wheel covers). They could definitely use some…
Good aircleaner base for 4 barrel?
Got curious if they made aftermarket parts for these. Swapping my 383 to a 4 barrel, and my air cleaner base for the 2 barrel won’t work as the hole is too small (around 4 inches if I remember), while the Carter AVS is 5 1/8th.
I measured the bottom both in total and from the hole itself, in total it’s around 18 inches and from the carburetor mounting hole it’s around 7 1/8. It’s just your regular 2 barrel air cleaner so if you have one you know what it looks like.
Looking for a stock…
1968 Carter AVS 4 Barrel Carb
Hopping into the ring again –
Looking for a Carter AVS for a 1968 "2806301" 4 holer intake. No problems with rebuilding a good core as long as everything is there, preferably complete with the Chrysler linkage stud already attached but no …
2 BBL to 4 BBL conversion – linkages to change?
Hey all,
A few days ago I took a roadtrip to get two parts I needed – an electronic voltage regulator, and more importantly to me, a “301” 4 barrel intake for my 1968 383 engine, which just currently has the factory 2 barrel intake.
Talking to CBODY67 in DMs and doing some reading on this forum and others, it seems some of the linkages need to be replaced for this conversion – as the 4 barrel carburetor’s linkage stud is positioned slightly different than the normal 2 barrel. I believe it…
How bad do these front floor pans look?
I was looking at my Chrysler recently last week and noticed that due to the carpet being trashed I could take a peek at the front floor pans, so I decided to gauge their condition – I noticed a few small rust holes in the front driver’s side and a smaller one on the passenger side. I know someone who works at a site where they work on these cars, including welding, so I will try them to fix it as I am no welder, but I was wondering that, besides the obvious fact that it needs to be taken…
Looking to change drums to disc from 71 CBody to 68 – anything to know?
So, while looking on eBay, I actually found a 1971 Chrysler 300 parts car, only around 2 hours away from here. The engine had been gutted, but it had the Disc Brakes, and the booster/master cylinder still inside. I was wanting to go up there and take…
Engine runs at a higher RPM but doesn’t idle – possible causes?
So, I decided to put a completely new carburetor on my 383 instead of trying to repair my junk original Carter 2 barrel. I got the same model, albeit from a 1969 model, but it’s still pretty much the exact same type of carburetor and bolted right on. It was an ACDelco rebuild, I adjusted the idle screws to 1 and a 1/2 turns and tried to adjust it: it doesn’t want to run at all at the idle RPM, but if I rev it it fairs a bit better.
I’ve heard several suggestions from elsewhere and on…
