Some days are not worth getting up for and I had one today Got to work at 6.20 everythings great. Leave the shop at 8.30 and 4 blocks away my lower ball joint breaks. Call a wrecker and its 65 bucks for a 4 mile tow. get back to the plumbing shop and take it apart with plumbing tools and bfh. buy the part and noone around to press it in so try to beat it in on the truck with bfh. Grab forklift,its pushing 1.30 now and lift front enough to swing bfh. Get it in half ass and finish the cotter pins and such and let it down off forklift. Throw forklift in neutral and pull emergency brake and jump off to move truck out of bay door. Its been raining since 9 so its pretty wet out. Emergency brake on forklift doesnt work and forklift rolls backward off slab in muck from rain and sinks to body. tried pulling it out with 3 different trucks .Im soaked and muddy and greasy at this point. Finally I go next door to big truck repair shop. Owner brings 1 ton 4x4 ford and cant pull it out and breaks chain. He leaves and comes back with 2 ton service truck and snatches me 4 times before it finally comes out. I washed the muddy forklift down and stored it away in the shop. I,m cold wet hungry and beat at this point about 4 oclock. Man the hot shower felt good and the cold beer and fabo make things all better. Ashamed I got up at 5am to work 3 hours and work for free the rest of the day and spent 83 dollars on a ball joint and tow. So you see why I should have stayed in bed.
