Well, the F*ck-up Fairy is in fine form this year. Our roof has sprung a leak, and we need a new one. Well, to be perfectly honest, it's just the back half of the house that needs redoing. We're getting a tarp to use as a stopgap measure, but we're gonna have to get the roof replaced. Patching it won't work because if anybody got up there, they'd probably find themselves suddenly in our family room in back. We don't have the liquid funds to be able to pay for the roof directly, and I don't think our credit is good enough to finance it through normal channels, so we were looking at the FHA Title I Home Improvement loans. With those, from what I read, as long as the loan amount is below $7500, we don't have to mortgage the house as security. I was just wondering if anybody had ever taken out one of these loans and what your experience with them was. I appreciate any and all information that can be provided. Thank you!
