Okay this car has been sold 5 times now in the last 6 months on moparts and craigslist but wives, banks, etc keep it from going to a good home of someone who has the time to enjoy it. So now I figured I would offer it here before I cut it up for parts in a couple weeks.
NOTE: I am willing to trade DOWN only so I will accept a lesser car + cash -- Or an even trade for another Demon only.
1972 340 Demon. Street Legal / Drag Car
72 Demon - fiberglass fenders, hood, front bumper. Has original stock 72 scoop. Nice grille. Yellow Paint job. Old loud, cheap 3" exhaust with glass pack style of muffle (nice and loud)
Interior: 10pt cage, Fuel cell in trunk, (2) racing buckets, will yellow and black covers, and 5pt harnesses. Cheetah shifter mounted into stock console. Ralley dash outfitted with autometer gauges(5" Speedo & Tac, oil pressure) additional tranny and water temp gauges mounted under dash. Black carpet and nice black door panels. All rear tin work done.
Wheels: Large bolt 15" center lines all 4 corners. Fronts are 3.5" wide and rears are 8"wide (I think, but may be 10"W) MT ET Street 28x11 rears fronts are all VW all purpose tire.
Rear end: 8 3/4 rear end, 4.56 spool 3" wheel studs, big drum brakes, large yoke, SS leaf springs with 3/4" offset shackles for clearance. Rear end has new bearings and was just checked out for racing this year.
Motor: Bought the motor from a drag racing buddy who ran 11.13 in a full stock 73 Dart Sport: What I know is as follows: 340 motor, 590 cam, Iron heads (have had some port work done, not sure what though, ported by Lee Shepard) M1 intake, demon 750 Carb, Super Comp headers, Mini starter, Mopar Distributor, MDS 6Al Ignition. Runs great.
Tranny: 904 with trans brake (uses button on cheetah shifter to launch), deep pan. reverse manual valve body. Only 2 years old (with only 12 passes on the track) Did not race at all in 2007 due to work schedule.
My best time was a 12:37 at Quaker City in Salem, OH 2 summers ago.
Car is located in Pittsburgh, PA 15212. Buyer pays 100% shipping. Might be willing to deliver if your close for an additional gas fee.
