72 Dart swinger project(56K WARNING)

I have had this car for a while now and didn't really start going hardcore on the restoration of it until 2 summers ago. When we bought it we though it was a lot better than it was because we were told the kid we bought it from was a good guy but we found out he doesn't tell the truth and doesn't know a whole lot about cars.

I will start out with some things that sort of gave his true knowledge about cars away. We got the car and he told us that the carb didn't have a choke on it and we thought that was sort of weird and he also told us the water pump was bad so he gave us a new water pump that he had bought. W thought it was weird that the carb wouldn't have a choke so we took the air filter off and as expected it definitely had a choke. Before we went and replaced the water pump we decided to check the thermostat first and when we took that off we found out that he had installed it backwards. Later on in the restoration we found out the wiring was complete crap and wraped with about 20 feet of electrical tape.

Our plan with the car is to go for sort of a pro touring look. We are painting it the new Sublime green with a flatblack hood. We were going to get the Snakeskin green that comes on the new vipers but that would cost 425 dollars per gallon. For wheels I want to got some 18" Shelby Torq Thrust M's. The engine is a 70 318 with 360 heads and some more work done to it to make it go a little faster.

Here are some pics of what we did and are doing. I apologize for the bad quality pictures, only thing I had with me was my phone so that had to do.

You can sort of see that the quarter panel was cut out about 2 inches around the wheel well.

6-pack style hood that will be painted black and going on it.

This is the dash that we are making/made for it. It will also have the original heater controls mounted in the stock position and also have a cd player where the glove compartment should go. We are going to be painting it wrinkle black so it should give it a nice look and also hide the not so good parts of the metal.
