As you guy's know, I am getting reacquainted with my '73 chrysler newport. Hoping to pick back up where I left off a few years ago..
Took her out for a drive the other day, and the passenger side front caliper decided to start hanging up on me. So she will be needing some brake work here in the near future. This has got me started on what to do after the brake work, as she will also be needing tires sometime soon. With tires, I would like some different wheel's. I like the stock chrysler hubcaps, but not really my thing. They really add to the sleeper aspect of the car, but ehhh... want something else. I know you guy's are more into stock appearing, oem rides as possible, which I like as well. However this is my hotrod, and not to worried about it appearing stock. However I would deffinetly like to stay to stock mopar wheel's, unless something else really pop's out at me.
How the car currently sits-
Stock wheel's, hubcaps, and 225/75/15 tires (not sure of brandname)
I did have the slotted cop wheel's from my monaco on the newport once, and it did look good. However not sure if it is "the look" I want.
Police wheel's, and dog dish caps, with 235/75/15 tires
Currently here are the choices I am thinking
Police slotted wheel's with dog dish caps
B body rally wheel's
The c body road wheel's (I like em/but I don't at the same time, also they seem a little harder to come by)
Was also even thinking about keeping the stock wheel's, and painting them body color. I know this looks good on 4 doors, but don't think it would look so good on a 2 door...
Want to run a raised white letter tire with them. What do you guy's think? any input greatly appreciated!!
