The two horns on our 80 Volare are apparantly rotted internally. They will make a noise but very muted and croaky sounding.
Figured it was just out of adjustment, bad ground etc......but looked at all that and no change.
There rust bubbling around the horn element case so I figure water got in there, did it dirty work etc.
I am guessing GENUINE NOS horns will require taking a second mortgage on the house......so what aftermarket horns have proven to be good and loud and reliable and last...
