For those that know the story, I am finally getting started on my 55 Plymouth putting the 500 inch motor in, It was my original dream race car that got side tracked due to NMC rules not allowing an Big Block into a 55.
I have decided that I don't give a chit and I am going to build the car anyway and run it at the HAMB events like Texas Thaw, Day of the Drags and other Pre 64 Races. I am going to try and keep it street legal.
First I am going to need some belts to hold my fat arse in place and pass Tech I hope I can get this fat pig way down into the 11's.
I first need to know what I should have in the way of belts. Do I need a five point harness or just a stock style three point set up? I just don;t like lap belts only.
I was thinking of going with the three point belt but need a place to mount the belt above my shoulder. The post isnt worth a crap, it's thin. I was thinking of making a plate that would go in behind the post and weld it into place. Welding a nut to that plate and the bolting the top part of the harness to that.
I could also put a hoop in the car if I have to and Mark has time, which would probably be the safest way.
