Friday was an overcast day but lots of good Sportsman time trials and qualifying. I heard unofficially that a Dodge/Cummins 2WD truck went a 9.08 qtr mile even.
I DID NOT attend racing (license not done yet), or spectating (teams I were to help with cancelled out due to weather forecast), and did NOT want to just sit in my motel room costing lots of money, watching TV. Heard one of the Force girls set a new record, whether just a track record or national record I'm not sure. Also, a 69 Dart stock class car record holder from Nebraska was all over his already national record and about to set it even lower. I met him last year on the way there, class kinda guy, hope he gets it.
Went for my annual blood pressure review etc last Monday. All was good, blood pres the best it's been in the last 5 yrs!!! Bashed up foot infected but not broken EKG for license was good, and yeah, finger test and blood test said prostate is good shape too! With physical done, 4 runs to go till license is had, can't wait to finish!!!! Doc wants MRI on my left wrist, sharp pain there. Will be finishing license runs, as weather allows, at I29 Dragway (formerly Mid America Motorsports Track, got sold over the winter), near Omaha Nebraska. Gonna thrash it w/o using the delay box, go for as close to 7.5 sec as I can and get Super Pro license and add Super Comp onto it. When the other car is ready, gonna thrash it into the hopefully 5.80's go for T/D with it. If all goes well 2 of 3 sponsors have already said sponsor money will step up to the T/D car.
Have already pre registered several races from Texas, Ohio, St Louis, Looosiana maybe, an several others, gotta ask the ole lady on that, she has us going to Florida twice I know (her dad lives in Jacksonville), so Mac be ready to hook up, we're racing for goodies an you showing me around. gotta have lotsa lobster and crawfish! will only be bringing the 7.50 car w/ the 497 motor. prolly have the Pro Systems SV1 carb on methanol on it by then. if so, throttle stop WILL HAVE TO BE working! delay box too. Next year, there with the T/D car, throttle stop only to keep us slower than 6.0.
Oh well all, 90% chance of rain tomorrow, raining like hell now and flood warnings issued. Doubting the race gets finished tomorrow.
