So here is an ad I have been working on....it's long but wanted detail in it.

1974 Dodge Dart Sport. Space saver Dart with fold down rear seat. My daily driver that gets comments everywhere I go. If you are looking for an all original show car...this is probably not your car. If you are looking for a very solid, fun and fast car to drive.....this may be for you.

The title on this car is restored/salvage. I purchased the car from a guy in California last year who got it at an auction. He did not know if it had been wrecked or was a theft recovery. It does have a wrinkle in the left lower quarter panel and a split in the lower inside trunk seam on the same side so maybe it was rear-ended at some point. I do not know. I do know the car is solid.

Never have had any problem with the title as restored/salvage. It is currently insured with Progressive and I have a collector car policy on it as well.

BODY

Car has no rust other than very minor surface rust in spots. Very solid. When I got the car it had no carpet or interior body panels and it is all solid.

Has a wrinkle in left side lower quarter panel. The body is very solid and complete. Does not have fender tag so don't know how it was born.

Bumpers and trim are nice and chrome is very good.

PAINT

The yellow paint appears to be original and is still pretty nice. Has it's share of nicks and scratches. Would probably really shine well if buffed out with a power buffer. I have only waxed by hand and it still shines.

The white paint portion of the car is Rustoleum that was applied using spong rollers. It is a 20 footer for sure but it still looks nice.

Engine bay was spray painted black when I got it so I covered the black with white spray paint and it came out pretty nice. Still need to get behind the distributor on firewall.

Trunk is also sprayed black. Haven't got to change it yet.

INTERIOR

The car was gutted when I got it so it has been a work in progress.

It needs a lower back seat and a dash pad. I have a piece of vinyl on the dash now just laying there.

Front seat is ok as is but pretty weak and needs to be redone. I am 200lbs and it still works for me but the springs are kinda weak.

Guages all work. Fuel gauge is not accurate. I have redone the 5 volt power regulator for the fuel and temp. gauge and checked the wiring to the tank. Also the ground at the sending unit. At this point I am thinking it is a bad sending unit.

Has a factory rubber floor cover out of a 4 speed car so has a few cut and glue spots but looks really good.

Car was an a/c car and now has just a heater that blows out one big square vent. New heater core.

Weather stripping is all good.

ENGINE - IGNITION - WIRING

The engine is a 360. Casting number is 53020008AB - 360. Don't know if it's bored over or what pistons. Has some odd stamped numbers on block front left. See pics.

Roller cam and lifters. Don't know the profile. Was hoping I could id the engine with stamped numbers or casting but have had no luck. I know the car had a bunch of Westoaks Mopar stuff in it when I got it and I was hoping it might have been a MP crate engine...just don't know how to tell.

Magnum heads.

Mopar Performance intake P4510018, valve covers and air cleaner.

Headers and 2 1/2" dual exhaust all the way back.

Barry Grant Speed Demon carburetor.

Mopar Performance plug wires.

New ignition module, coil, alternator, fuel pump, reluctor, rotor and ballast resistor.

Painless wiring harness throughout entire car.

TRANS

904 Very clean. Looks like it was gone through but cannot know for sure.

Shifts very solid.

Lokar downshift cable.

Hurst V Lock shifter

Was converted from column to floor shift by previous owner.

REAR END

Ratio is 2.76 Open rear

SUSPENSION - STEERING

Front end was gone through by previous owner.

Tubular upper control arms.

New bushings, ball joints.

KYB shocks in front.

Power steering. Nice and tight.

BRAKES

Disc in front

Drum in back

Converted from power brakes to manual.

WHEELS - TIRES

Wheels are Cragar - see pics - don't know model or width.

Tires are BF Goodrich TA Radials.

Front - P225/60 R15

Rear - 245/60 R15

Good tread on them all.

NEEDS

Ignition switch is intermitant with power to coil in Start. So I wired a toggle switch and usually put it in Run and use toggle to crank. Just did not get around to changing switch out.

Needs rear lower seat.

Needs a Dash Pad

Needs a left side A-Pillar cover

I am sure I have missed some things. please ask all the questions you want. Open and honest is my deal.

Overall the car is fast, fun and has been very dependable since I had her. Put some 3.73 gears in and it will fly off the line. Still spins the tires very easily and really gets up and hauls around 2500-3000 rpm.
