I removed this case from my 1971 Challenger to replace it with a 489 Case. Before removal, there were no noises caused by the case. It has been sitting on a dolly and covered in my garage for about one year. I applied gear grease on the ring gear and turned it a couple of times in both directions to get a contact pattern to show. It seems like the pinion depth and lash will have to be adjusted before putting into service.
