Lake Louisiana

I've lived in Louisiana all my life and don't remember anything like the rains we've gotten this week. North La. got 20" - 30" of rain Wednesday night and last night south La. (north of Lake Pontchartrain) we got 12" - 20". I didn't have any problems at my house but just north of me there are a lot of flooded roads and houses. Some streets have as much as 10 feet of water on them and near Bogalusa a bridge washed out and the parish fairgrounds buildings were washed away. And while the rain is slackening off the rivers will continue to rise through tomorrow, some another 10 feet. Plus the south winds are pushing the lake tides up 2'-3' making it harder for the rain water to get into the lake and more rain expected through tomorrow.

As an aside, there will probably be a lot of flooded vehicles hitting the market - be careful if you're thinking of buying a used one.
