My 2006 Hemi Ram has had the tick which seems to be well known and documented as "nature of the beast."
I have only 73,000 miles on it and Amsoil 5W20 and filter have been used since the first oil change.
I recently noticed the tick has worsened and startup after sitting overnight will result in extremely loud noises from the engine. It rattles and clangs for maybe the first 10 seconds or so and then quiets down when the oil pressure comes up.
I have read that most dealers call it normal and nothing to worry about but I can't help feeling that the apparent metal to metal noise is a sign of severe problems down the road.
Has anyone else here had a similar issue?
