Had bug in paint trouble. Sanding, repaint and tech sheet?

I shot Nason single stage solid this weekend and have some issues. I had some sort of gnat bug trouble. Basically ruined my new paint. I tried sanding, cutting and buffing. I have to repaint cause black bug stuff in green paint won't work for me. I only shot two coats so, aggressive sanding hits primer quick. I've got the bug issue under control. Sprayed inside/outside shop and getting some new filters. Here are the questions.

1) Sanding: The color shows I did a good job blocking but, I don't want to mess it up. I know the answer is get the block out but, I'm wondering if the interface pad and a light touch will work on hard paint. Can I use an interface pad with 600 grit on the DA to cut orange peel and gloss out?

2) Tech sheet: States to use 1.3 to 1.6 tip size. I have a FLG4 with a 1.5 which I used first time. I do have a 1.3. I've read that you should use the smallest tip possible for better results. Again this is single stage Nason and its 8:1:2. I had two runs and I know why and I might be concerned that the paint would flash before I got all the way around.

Suggestions please. Thanks Craig
