Foam Insulation

I just wanted to say if there are any of you out there who are considering stuffing your car with spray foam insulation, please, please, please, don't. I bought my 71 Demon from ebay and from the pictures the car looked pretty good. The frame rails were in excellent condition and while there were some spots on the body that looked a little rough, they were the typical mopar rust spots and didn't look all that bad. When I got the car home and started getting into the body work, I found foam insulation under some rough patches a previous owner had made in my quarters in front of and behind the wheel wells and in my rockers. Not only is the foam a nightmare (horrific, especially in the rockers) to get out of the car, but it holds mositure like a sponge. After I cut a couple of the patches out, I had water running out of the car, which hadn't seen rain in months. You can see the lines where the foam had touched sheetmeatal and where it hadn't - it's a rusty mess where it had and is beautful, clean metal above it. It makes me sick to think about what the car would have looked like without the foam. So I just wanted to say, if you have any respect for Mopars, please, please, please do not use foam on them.
