Chrysler 200 Super Bowl Commercial

Who would have ever thought the combination of Eminem and a renamed, restyled, and tweaked Sebring sedan would garner so much attention. I just visited YouTube and saw that two versions of the commercial have drawn nearly six million hits between them!

It made Rush Limbaugh's show with guest host Mark Steyn, and was the top story on page two of our local daily paper. Several polls scored it the top ad in the Super Bowl, while others rated it in second place. One report said Chrysler sales people have been inundated with calls from people who want more info on the 200. Go figure!

I despise rappers and rap music, but I thought the ad was a video masterpiece, created by an advertising genius. However, the proof will be if it translates into sales, and I'm not sure the old Sebring has been changed and improved enough to make that happen. The import justifiers will make certain the public gets the spin version straight from the Toyota and Honda media outlets, so Chrysler will have a tough sell.
