Anyone know about an emergency ignition switch on these cars? Sorry I don’t have a picture. But my ’74 Duster has this box with a red button on it. It’s in the rear of the engine bay near the ballast resistor and ECU. I have been told it is used to start the car if thre is an emergency. There appears to be no writing on it. I’m afraid to mess with it thinking it probably hasn’t been used in a very long time.

I bought a battery hold down kit from Mancini, the description says..

‘Battery Hold Down Kit
1970-1971 B- & E-Body and 1970-1972 A-Body

Battery hold down kit includes the correct black phosphate J-bolts with SEMS nuts and a thermo-plastic coated cross bracket.’

My heater blower motor has quit working on my 72 Swinger with factory A/C. I disconnected the electrical connector at the blower motor under the hood and checked it with a voltmeter. It wasn’t showing any volts with the switch in the high or low position. I removed the blower fan resistor at the heater box and it looks like new. I ran a jumper wire to the blower motor off the battery and it runs fine. I don’t think it is getting any power. All the fuses appear to be ok. Anyone know what…

There are aftermarket replacement tachs available as well. Has anyone used one of these and how do they look versus the original tachs?

ok, I don’t know much about wiring and I don’t know anything about how it all works, but my husband had his cousin rebuild the 360 for the 1976 Duster we own. The catch is, his cousin moved away before the wiring was put back together. Neither me or my husband know much about wiring. I do better than my husband so I’m the one learning and putting it back together. Need lessons and help. There is also the issue of breaking in the motor without messing it up. Ok guys, I know there are 10 million ignition/ballast resistor questions out there, but after reading them, I still have questions regarding how I have my wiring set up.

I’ve started w/ a stock repro engine/charging harness, and have made modifications trying to use as much or the original wires as possible.

These are the mods/updates I’ve made:

Late-model internally regulated alternator (obviously eliminated the VR on the bulkhead)
