ID “new” MP disty

I’m going to look at a used MP disty for a SB. Is there an easy way to identify the “new” MP disty that has the adjustable mechanical advance? I’ve read that it has torx screws that hold the advance plate/weights. Can these be seen after removing the cap & rotor? Or do you ahve to remove the pickup as well?

Sparkplug gap?

Getting ready to install new Champion plugs in my Eddy heads after a top-end rebuild. How do I know what gap I need for the plugs? It’s a 440 w/ 10.2:1 CR, Mallory 6A, and Unilite distributor. ERC12YC plug.

New tach for the ol’ Dart

I installed a new tach this weekend. My old one was a US Nationals tach but
it fried when my regulator shorted out a month or so ago. This one just says Mac Tools. toolmanmike

16 volt batteries

when switching from a 12 to a 16 volt battery is there anything i need to do or is it that simple? i do have a 16 volt charger too……
this is a race car with a msd6a ignition

16 volt batteries

is there anyone here that uses a 16 volt battery with no alternator?

Lights dimming and brightening

Can this be a bad alternator or voltage regulator?

Lights all brighten up when you rev up and dim back down when the car idles.

Is the voltage regulator built into the alternator ?

Don;t wnat the battery to overcharge and blow up.

No more instrument panel dimmer?

The other night while out driving my ’70 Duster the instrument panel lights all of a sudden went out. I thought it was a bad fuse but a new one didn’t fix it. I then found that the panel lights would only work if I turned the headlight switch all the way to the left. What happened, and how can I fix it? I put in a new headlight switch not too long ago so I hope I don’t have to get another one.
