Wrong Alternator?

So my alternator’s voltage output was low. So, I went to my trusted local auto parts store, and got a rebuilt untit. Well, the dang thing doesn’t fit. I had to shorten the long spacer that goes between the mounting ears, because the dimensions were different than the stock alternator. I got it mounted up, and it sits crooked. When I started the car up, it just smoked the new fan belt, as the alternator pulley was at too extreme an angle to rotate freely.

So, my core is gone, as I waited…

Engine cranks but won’t start

Over the course of four days I replaced the following on my 318. Voltage regulator, new spark plugs and a MSD blaster coil. The car cranks but will not fire up. I am thinking I did something wrong when hooking the coil up but everything looks good. Sounds fine when cranking but will not engage. All the spark plug wire boots are tight as well. What are the steps to solve this problem?

my wiring is all messed up, i unpluged the brake connector thing from the little plunger, and drove a bit and hooked it back up again. now my brake lights dont work at all, and the inside dome lights are dim when i drive, but do not light up when doors are opem, and the dash lights dont work at all.

can anyone help me with how to rewire everything and all the wireing harnesses and yeah.

Initial timing

I haven’t put a timin light on the dart in 5 years.Forgot what the initial timin should be.I have a racin mopar dist. Vacuum plugged off. 360 484 purple cam Rpm intake. 650 double pumper.360heads w/some work. TTI exhaust.2800 stall.I rmember I was able to get the car to idle around 800-900 rpm.now it idles at 1100-1200.wants to stall at the stoplights.I have not wrenched on this car in years.I now have a 16 yr old son who wants to start workin’ on the dart.HELP PLEASE.

signal light switch problem

brand new switch in the coloum left turn is fine and right turn is fine front and back.The issue is if the turn leaver is not in the right spot the rear tail light stayes lit if I move it a little goes out.I dont want people thinking I have a left turn light out.what gives is there a fix.dam aftermarket parts.

Msd run-on!Has anybody experienced this?

I have installed a MSD 6AL box and ss coil in my 66 Dart with factory mopar elec. dist.I have the car running,but when I go to turn it off with the key,it stays running?In the instructions,they call this run-on.It says to put a jumper wire on the dual ballist on one side and little red wire on the top and run a ground to the bottom on the other side.Has anyone tried this with good results?Thanks,any help would be great!

Who’s running an MSD Distributor?

I just bought an MSD Dist for my small block to replace my old DC Tach drive Dist and when I went to install it I realized the rotor is not lined up with the bottom of the dist shaft correctly.

If you line up the bottom of the shaft at 12 O’clock and 6 O’clock the rotor is pointing towards 2 O’clock on the MSD but on my DC, and an old Unilite I have sitting here and the 3 stock distributors I have lying here the rotor points towards 12 O’clock or basically the same direction as the paddle at…
