The US Congress has always sucked at their jobs. We have career congressmen taking campaign contributions (bribes), we have lobbyists for every thing you can think of. One of my pet peeves is CAFE. Look at us now. We have such a glut of petroleum, now that all the good car designers are retired but back in '74-75, congress was squealing for better gas mileage because of the OPEC oil embargo. I got stranded for a day in '74 in California because my plate had an even number on an odd day. Now our beloved cars designed before that fiasco are being lapped up because the plastic sideways engined cars produced because of CAFE just simply suck. Rant over.
