Best solution for my cancer trunk?

Hey guys,

I started ripping up all the rug and insulation in the trunk, found out that I have this rot hole.
What would be some ideas on fixing it?

A few thoughts I came up with are:

1. Just get some scrap metal and weld from the piece above the passenger frame rail, then weld to the fender, use body putty to fix whatever warping might happen.
2. Buy a new trunk pan
3. Rivet sheet metal to the piece above the passenger frame rail, weld to the fender

I mean, I'm not building a concourse car, so I don't mind if it's not perfect, but I'd still like it to be well done, and of course safe.

It doesn't seem to be a structural area, seeing as it's on the side of the FR, but I don't want to drive with a gap in the wheel well.
