Been Kinda Busy (pictures)

Well I had to stop work on the Cordoba to do some stuff on the 68 short bed and one thing led to another and .... well I started by doing a tune up, then ignition swap instead, and went ahead and added a new intake.
This is a late 70's smog 400.
Before

After--Thats VHT wrinkle finish on the valve covers, I also did the air cleaner the same way, it really looked good w/ the Chrysler turquoise.
Then I ran across a nice set of Police wheels, 7" wide front and 8.5" wide rears, since I hated the wheels that were on it, she got new shoes, and I put 275/60R15 BF Goodrich's on back.
when I got em home

Since I was taking the wheels off and my "panic stops" were really "white knuckle panic, slow down and swerves" I went ahead and added disc brakes. (a Scarebird conversion)

This is a "before" shot of the truck and the hated wheels, thats my sons ride parked w/ ours. And the shop I got this past April. The shops gettin put to good use.

And heres her new look, I like much better. Those other wheels belong on a ragged out IROC.

After this the motor, though looking good was oil soaking and bridging a couple spark plugs up after 60 miles or so. I had a redone set of 346 head w/ hardened inserts that came w/ a new shortblock 400 I bought, but instead of swapping heads, I decided to build the old truck a new engine all together. I added Keith Black pistons to bump up my compression. Its at 8.7:1 now w/ the 87 cc heads.

Around this time, my wife,...my very understanding and encouraging wife got me to duck out of the shop long enough for us to go to the hospital and have our little girl, Hannah Claire.

She was 7 lbs. 10 ozs. healthy and she LOVES old rusty dodge trucks! They did an emergency C section because the babies heart rate had dropped too low, but everyone came through fine and healthy. They even brought me in to hold my wifes hand during the operation, which was intense to put it mildly.

Thats me, my son and his sister to put a face w/ my name.
After we got home I installed my cam, a Comp Cams XE268 cam kit. I bought it 8 yrs ago, and don't have which ever car it was for any more. I also have a RPM intake I bought years ago, and a Holley 750. Windage tray and 6qt oil pan. The other day I pulled the motor and trans.

I also have a rebuilt trans, and TCI 2800 stall converter going in. She has a 3:55 suregrip already. Winters comin' soon and I have allot to do to the old house too, but hope to have her all together again befor November so I can take my beater trash hauler to the strip and get a timeslip (after break in of course) I've never had a shop before and I'm luvin' it.
