Aftermarket automatic (manual valve body) shifter

I have a street/strip 72 challenger with a stock T handle slapstick.

I really want to make the upgrade to a reverse manual valve body. I would like to upgrade the shifter, but I am wondering if anyone has successfully fit an aftermarket shifter into …

rearview mirror question

I have a 72 challenger that I use as a street strip car.

It runs high 11’s in the 1/4 (best ever 11.73) but often I am footbraking in the transbrake class running 1/8 mile (7.50’s, 7.60’s.) I am one of the slowest cars in no box transbrake class, so having a useful rearview mirror would be very helpful. In fact, on Friday I was racing a guy. I had the better light but I made a mistake looking back for the other guy out the drivers window before I hit high gear. Therefore I was a bit late on…

E body torque strap

Looking for a torque strap for ’72 challenger.

I had a tunbuckle style, but it pulled the threads last summer.

I talked to Mancini’s, their normal supplier is out of business and they are in limbo. I shopped around ebay but I don’t see anything floating around.

Wondering if anyone has one on a shelf that they aren’t going to use. Let me know, thanks.

Need to modify intake manifold to mate with decked heads + block

Hi guys, I have a bored .040″ over 408 with the J head and air gap intake, ~10.25:1 compression. Just got the engine running about 2 weeks ago.

The engine runs absolutely perfectly, however I have been having smoke on deceleration out of the drivers side (right bank) cylinders. Engine compression is perfect in all bores. I replaced the valve seals, that didn’t help. I have now deduced the problem to be the intake manifold not seated. As many of you know (and now I do too,) when you deck the…

SCREW for slap stick “T” shifter

Hi guys, I run a ’72 Challenger with a 408 stroker and 727 trans. I am running the factory slap stick shifter but I somehow lost the screw that holds the plastic shifter handle on.

I have never paid much attention to the specifics of the screw other than the fact that it’s a countersink machine screw. Is it a typical hardware store screw or is there anything unique I must know about it? If it is a hardware store item, can someone let me know the thread size and approx length?

Thanks in…
